About the Journal

INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology is an international peer-reviewed journal dealing with topical issues in contemporary art music, visual and performing arts, and technology. The journal encourages interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches and innovative views on these subjects, aiming to create a platform for communicating new ideas and theoretical and artistic impulses.

INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology is published by the INSAM Institute for Contemporary Artistic Music from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

INSAM Journal is published semi-annually (July and December) in open-access electronic form.

The Journal is indexed in: ERIH PLUS, DOAJ – Directory of Open Access Journal, CEEOL – Central and Eastern European Online Library, RILM – Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale.

The 14th issue of the INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology – the first we are publishing in 2025 – features studies and reviews that explore topics of interest from the past nearly eight years: the impact of technology on music and art, the redefinition of traditional artistic formats, soundspace, artificial intelligence in music, and social media. With the final article before the Review section, we are also highlighting radio art as the main theme for our December issue.
